THE CAMPERS DRAG BRUNCH

Chris Hart was one of the original Campers, and performed for many years with a Los Angeles-based group called The Campers.

The Campers started performing in 1972. Influenced by vaudeville and burlesque, they brought a unique brand of comedy to audiences for nearly 50 years. The group performed regularly at venues in West Hollywood, Studio City, Long Beach, Palm Springs and Las Vegas, and even toured Europe in 1990.

The show is more parody and gay burlesque than drag but has had a wide appeal over the years. The Campers give a different interpretation to some well-known classics, giving them their own irreverent style. Chris joined the group in 1985 and became director in 2013. The group’s final performance in LA was in 2019.

In January of 2022, Chris Hart performed at the UnderBar in Vancouver as a solo act “Camper Chris” and performed at the UnderBar’s very first drag show. The show quickly became so popular, that Camper Chris (Hart) new he had to expand his act.

A few months later, Roger Caulk - AKA Camper Roger joined Chris, and the two continued to perform on the First Sunday of each month at the UnderBar.

Months later the Campers added yet another addition to the group, Camper Daniel - AKA Bolivia Carmichaels, a long time, famous Portland Drag Performer.

Camper Chris, Camper Roger, and Camper Daniel, now make up the new Campers Trio.
